RECOVERY

Ryder, just chillin....

So, as part of Ryder's recovery from his circumcision, we've been advised, "...to help the surface heal properly, you may wish to expose the area to the air. This is best done by leaving his diaper underneath him (to catch any bowel movements) pardon??? Ewww! and draping a sheet or towel above him, taped tot he sides of the bassinette or reclining chair, so that he doesn't pee all over the place. Try to do this 20 minutes, twice a day."
Sure, sounds like a plan! Ha! Yesterday we opted out of tackling this project. We had our hands full just swirling vaseline around his little wiener so that the diaper wouldn't rub. It seemed like everytime the vaseline hit the end of it, he'd wildly start peeing! The first time we were very unprepared and he got both Marty and I! The second time, you'd think we'd have learned, but we both got hit again, so did the wall! In the last 24 hours, Marty and I and the furniture has been peed on alot. Can't help but laugh, and gag all at the same time!!
Today, I decided to try this "naked thing." What a mess!!!
I had some disposable change pads, that I put down on the little change station on our pack n' play. I layed him down on the change pads with his diaper open, underneath him (to catch his bowel movements....) then I taped another disposable change pad to the sides of the change table over him. Then, I stepped away. He kicked and squirmed and crapped and peed and grunted and groaned!! By the time 10 mins had gone by I couldn't take it anymore, I went to rescue him from the pile of poop and pee he was wallowing in! Ewww! I can see that naked time is gonna be a challenge.....

Ryder, hangin' under his "pee sheet"
Yep, in theory, this should work.....

Considering that he seems to be good at peeing on both you and Marty, I think we can deduce (yes Jeanne, i just used the word 'deduce') that he simply has good aim! Keep up the good work Ryder!
